InBrief Mag Issue #4 Featured Artist Liam Dewey →
I am totally humbled to be published as a photographer (for my first time) in the fourth issue of Melbourne magazine InBrief. I attended the launch last night and have nothing but respect for the content, editing and creative spirit of the magazine. It represents what is a blossoming art scene for the youth in Melbourne, which makes me beam with pride. Check it out as four of my photos from...

hiatus
taking a break to have a breath of fresh air and focus on preparing for what is ahead of me. super content with my life and happy to let the camera’s lens stay shut for a while. you’ll hear from me soon though.

hold my photos
to celebrate having 280 follower, 200 posts and 2013, I’m going to make a $10 booklet of my recent glitchy digital photography that embraces the flaws and convenience of digital and the modernisation of the camera. there will probably also be some writing, and some other bits and pieces if you’re lucky. if you are interested, leave a message in my ‘ask’ box. all funds will...

to clarify
I don’t digitally edit, though my most recent images were taken on an iPhone app callled Slow Shutter, which I appreciate for it’s organic ability to capture long exposures. It really is one of very few digital photographic mediums that I see to have an advantage over film - it allows you to witness your exposure live, and therefore is a great means to practise abstract long exposures...

Sydney when it shines: capturing the $6.6 million...
I weaved on my bicycle amidst a growing crowd - first it was pathways where I’d swerve between two or three groups at a time, then the roads were shut off as I entered the centre of Sydney CBD, but slowly the muddy crowd would slow me down, and I worked my way to the darker streets where I could swing between more sparse crowds. finally I arrived at the harbour, where I started I notice how...

ending the year: exorcising daemons and exercising...
as you may well know, I am preparing for 2013’s nomadic photo-journey I am embarking on with some close friends (you’ll be hearing more about that later). amidst researching films and alternative processing techniques, stockpiling discontinued rolls and buying clothes that are designed for outback travellers, I have been playing with an iPhone app called Slowshutter, which really is...
